How we doing Hartford County!?
Today is Tuesday, May 26th, also known as National Paper Airplane Day, because apparently every random thing does get its own holiday if you wait long enough.
Naturally, this got me thinking: should we try to organize a totally unnecessary but weirdly competitive paper airplane throwing contest?!
But before we start building the weirdest little event calendar in Hartford County, we want your help steering the ship. We put together a quick survey so you can tell us what kind of HartCo Buzz events you’d actually show up for.
You’re the captain here. We’re just the mildly caffeinated crew with a newsletter and a dangerous amount of ideas. The survey below should take 20 seconds of you time by answering 3 questions.

FARMERS MARKETS FIELD GUIDE
Hartford County farmers market season is officially kicking into high gear, which means fresh strawberries, crusty bread, questionable impulse jam purchases, and at least one tote bag you didn’t plan on filling.
We put together a Hartford County Farmers Market Guide with 19 venues so you can shop local, eat better, and pretend you’re just “grabbing a few things” before leaving with flowers, honey, pickles, and a loaf of sourdough the size of a toddler.
Support the farms. Support the makers. Support the tiny tomatoes that somehow taste 400% better than anything at the grocery store.

BUZZ & TELL
🐶Adopt-a-pal: Meet Ember, a 5 yr old Labrador Retriever mix with couch-cuddle energy, food-motivated brains, and enough people-loving personality to make “one-dog household” sound like a VIP membership.
🏡House of the week: A 1940 Normandy-style cottage with a turreted entry, hand-laid stonework, exposed beams, stained glass, and two fireplaces tucked into 2 secluded acres. Out back, it goes full private retreat with a heated in-ground pool, stone patios, babbling brook, koi pond, guest house, and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar for casual “I have a wine cellar” behavior. Check it out!
🥾Sighting of the week: A pink lady’s slipper Cypripedium acaule
🔭Sky report: This week’s sky is all about the Micro Blue Moon, which peaks early Sunday morning and comes back Sunday night looking full, bright, and just dramatic enough to make your phone camera embarrass itself. It’s the second full moon of May, so it gets the Blue Moon title, but it’s also near its farthest point from Earth, making it the smallest-looking full moon of the year.

HART CO GAMES 🤔
I’ve been tinkering away on a little Connecticut Buzz game hub, because apparently regular trivia wasn’t enough of a rabbit hole for us. The idea is to have one central spot for old trivia questions, crosswords, and now Buzzword, our very own Wordle-style Connecticut Buzz game.
More games and local brain teasers are coming down the pipeline, but for now, here’s our first crack at Buzzword. As always, it’s local, a little nerdy, and probably more addictive than it needs to be.

GET FEATURED
Bee Seen.
Every week, thousands of HartCo Buzz readers open this thing looking for their next meal, weekend plan, hidden gem or a trusted local service they can actually rely on. Get your business in front of a highly engaged audience that’s already paying attention and ready to take action.
